Symptoms for Mononucleosis

  • Release of appetite
  • Sore throat, swollen tonsils or swollen lymph glands
  • Fever and fatigue
  • Headache
  • Enlarged Liver
  • Enlarged Spleen causes pain in the upper left abdomen
  • Jaundice
  • Muscle soreness or joint pain
  • Irregular or rapid heartbeat
Causes for Mononucleosis
  • The Epstein-Barr virus is a component of the herpes family of DNA viruses. This is a common type of virus and is standard throughout the world. EBV is spread by contact with virus infected saliva. One can come in contact with this virus through: sneezing, coughing, kissing or sharing saliva infected utensils, lips gloss, straws etc. Contagion through sexual relation also cannot be ruled out. EBV is not highly infectious as only direct contact with infectious saliva can cause the disease.
Remedies for Mononucleosis
  • Aromatherapy handling employing extracts of bergamot, eucalyptus, and lavender great oils for a warm bath may help relieve fatigue.
  • Consumption of garlic can help fight viral transmission
  • Incase of a sore throat, gargling with slippery elm bark and licorice is considered beneficial. Or Else, gargling with salt water will also relieve a sore throat.
  • Catchweeds and Wild Indigo plant extracts are known to cleanse the lymphatic system
  • Yarrow and Elder flower have medicinal properties and helps reduce fever.
Diet for Mononucleosis
  • Eat four to six small meals every day instead of only three main meals
  • Include : fresh fruits, vegetables and natural foods in your diet
  • Drink plenty of water to flush toxins
  • Inspiration of supplements to boost the immune system. Involved appurtenances are: Vitamin A, Vitamin B-complex, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium.
